At first, when we attempted to help Polito, he was reluctant and resistant. It required a significant amount of patience before he understood that we intended no harm.

Eventually, he allowed us to approach him. We took him to the veterinary hospital, where he remained uneasy. The harsh experiences of living on the streets had left him wary, requiring the veterinary team to proceed with caution around him.

Polito was diagnosed with transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), a disease unfortunately common among homeless animals. He needed multiple chemotherapy sessions to recover, but his healing process would involve more than just medical treatment.

His strength is gradually returning, and he is regaining the weight he had lost as he starts walking again.
