Before his rescue, Frodo was in dire straits—thin, neglected, and suffering from a severe skin condition in Croatia. Fortunately, his fortunes began to change when some kind-hearted individuals discovered him wandering the streets.
In May of last year, Frodo was found in a shocking state, suffering from mange, fleas, ticks, and an untreated eye infection.
Recognizing the urgency of his condition, rescuers contacted Klaudija Sigurnjak, an experienced animal rescuer, to offer her expertise.
Upon seeing Frodo, Sigurnjak was surprised by his appearance, expressing disbelief that he was indeed a dog. Without hesitation, she took on the task of rescuing him.
With patience and kindness, Sigurnjak gained Frodo’s trust and ensured he received the medical attention he desperately needed.
His right eye had to be removed due to the severity of the infection, but thankfully his left eye was saved, preventing total blindness. Despite his critical health, Sigurnjak never lost hope for Frodo, even though his survival was uncertain.
To everyone’s relief, Frodo’s resilience soon shone through. Over the following months, he gradually began to recover, showing signs of improved health and a return to vitality.
His once-raw skin healed, his fur grew back, and as his physical appearance transformed, so did his spirit. The loving and gentle dog within began to emerge, leaving the sadness and pain of his past behind.
Witnessing Frodo’s transformation was incredibly moving for Sigurnjak. She remarked on how astonishingly beautiful he became, far exceeding their expectations.
With newfound health and a loving temperament, Frodo was ready for the next chapter of his life.
