A young puppy was discovered with severe injuries after someone tied a hairband around her muzzle so tightly it cut into her skin, reaching the bone.
When she was finally rescued, her face had swollen to three times its normal size. She was brought to Cincinnati Animal CARE, a no-kill shelter located in Ohio.
The caring team at the shelter named her Tiffany, inspired by a beloved 1980s pop star.

Upon examination, they found a deep wound caused by the embedded hairband, likely intended to keep her from barking—a method of silencing young dogs similar to other forms of animal mistreatment.
Tiffany received immediate medical treatment. The hairband was carefully removed, and the resulting gash was stitched up with great care.
Even in pain, Tiffany showed remarkable bravery during the procedure. She spent her first night after surgery with a compassionate member of the medical team who looked after her.

Fortunately, Tiffany is now on the road to recovery. The swelling has significantly reduced, her stitches are clean, and she is happily eating, drinking, and enjoying the affection of the kind person who found her and is currently fostering her.
The shelter is working diligently to find who was responsible for this cruel act. PETA has offered a reward for any information leading to an arrest. Those who might have helpful information are encouraged to contact the Hamilton County Dog Wardens.
In a recent update, the shelter shared that Tiffany visited them—and she is doing well. Her journey serves as a stark reminder of the suffering animals can face and the healing power of compassion and care.
